  • Hostname/IP & MAC address for each host
  • Network to attach the port to
  • Billing/contact information

Q. Can I make an existing Jack Multi-Host?
A: Yes, but you must place an order for the change to take effect.

Q:

Does MTU Telcom provide a hub/switch?
A: No, providing the hub/switch is the responsibility of the system administrator

Q:

If one machine has a severe problem, do you shut-down the port or host?
A: In most cases, the offending host can be locked out while leaving the other hosts in service.

Q:

What is the cost of this service?
A: $25 monthly per jack connection

Q:

Can I run my own cables to another room?
A: No, due to OSHA, fire codes, and University policy; cable installation must be performed by MTU Telcom authorized workers.

Q:

Are there cases where this service should not be used?
A: Higher bandwidth or server applications do not perform well with the shared bandwidth.

Q:

Why is there a four-host limit?
A: We maintain a host limit to work with all existing network equipment and to ensure reliable performance.
