Overview/Description of Service |
| Telcom offers an Email-to-pager gateway which allows you
to quickly send a text message to one or more pagers via
e-mail. To use this service, you need to know the user id of the person you are paging and you should try to keep your message brief (no more than 110
characters). |

Instructions
for Sending Email
to Single Pager (Option 1):

- On the "To" line, address the email to mtupage@mtu.edu
- As the "Subject:" of the message, type in the recipient's
user id.
Example:
Subject: jpsmith
In the body of the Email, type in the message that you
want to appear on the pager.Although the paging software will automatically break up a long message into multiple pages, it is recommended that
you keep your message brief -- such as 110 characters
in length.

mtupage+userid1@mtu.edu (where userid1 is the recipient's user id).
Example:
To... mtupage+jpsmith@mtu.edu

entries for specific pagers

- To page multiple people with one e-mail message, address
the mail to:
mtupage+userid1@mtu.edu, mtupage+userid2@mtu.edu [, ...]
