Merit Modem Discontinuation - July 2, 2007
posted 03/21/07

Effective July 2, 2007, Merit is discontinuing its dial-in modem service. This discontinuation will affect anyone dialing into Merit locally (483-3210) or within the state to merit numbers. This also affects the Merit 1-800 service and Global service.

Faculty, staff, and students dialing in locally should make arrangements with another provider. Other providers are listed in the local phone book yellow pages under "Internet Service Providers."

Faculty and staff using the Merit in-state numbers, 1-800 service, or global service will need to research other options when they travel such as wireless provided in most hotels. These services vary by location.

For more information and to read Merit's news release, go to: this link.
