The Telecommunications Department operates a Non-Cable MVPD / SMATV / Cable TV System to provide Michigan Tech students on campus with television programming. The service includes dozens of broadcast, information, world, music, sports, and entertainment channels. It also includes Husky Movie Vision (HMV), which offers up to 24 movie titles per month.
All students living on campus are eligible to receive these television services. For students living in the Residence Halls, there is no additional charge for receiving our basic service. Students living in Daniell Heights will be charged a small installation fee of $25.00 and monthly service fee of $19.00 for the basic service.
In addition to the channels offered through this basic television service, students can choose to purchase the HBO and/or Showtime premium channels at a cost of $9.95 per month for each channel.
