Telephone Services for Students

Student Telephone Services - Hillside Place

The University provides analog telephone service to tenants living in Hillside Place included in room and board. Although tenants must provide their own telephone, they will not incur any usage fees.

Voice mail is also available at no charge. Because dialtone is automatically available in Hillside Place, tenants do not have to notify Telcom of their intention to utilize local phone services or domestic long distance services. However, Telcom does need to be notified if a student wishes to utilize the free voice mail service.

If tenants of Hillside Place wish to request an additional phone line in the suite, this is available for an extra fee. There is an installation fee of $25.00 and a monthly service fee of $18.50. These charges are billed directly to the student each month by Telecommunications. You can request Student Telephone Services by completing our online request form.

Student Telephone Services - Residence Halls & Daniell Heights

There are phones available througout the residence halls in the shared kitchen, lounge, and common areas for use by all tenants. International calls from these phones requires the use of a pre-paid calling card. Local and domestic long distance calls are free.

For a fee, tenants of the residence halls and Daniell Heights may order analog telephone service in their room/apartment. There is an installation fee of $25.00 and a monthly fee of $18.50. These charges are billed directly to the student each month by Telecommunications. Although you must provide your own phone, you will not incur any other usage fees.

Voice Mail is available at no charge with each phone installation, however you will need to indicate whether or not you want to have your voice mail box activated.

Domestic Long Distance

Domestic long distance calls are free to anyone living in the any of the University's residential facilities. Any number that uses the North American number plan, i.e. xxx-xxx-xxxx, will be a free call, which includes Canada and some island nations. Calls that require the international access code of '011' will require a calling card.

International Calling

Numerous calling card options are available online or through a number of local retailers such as: Walmart, Shopko, OfficeMax, Jim's Foodmart, and Citgo Quick Food Mart.

Collect and Third Number Billed Calls

You are not permitted to accept collect and third number billed calls. If you receive such calls, you will be billed for the call as well as an investigation fee.
