MTU Voice Services -- IP Telephony (System Feature Descriptions)

System Features and Functionality -- Overview

Account Codes

The Account Codes feature allows you to assign a series of digits to your incoming or outgoing calls, usually for billing or accounting purposes. The code identifies the account in the call records that your system generates.

Account codes must be between three and twenty digits long and in the range 000-99999999999999999999. Code "000" is reserved for call privacy; using it stops the complete telephone number from appearing in the call records.

This feature is currently available on the 5020 IP Phone; 5215 IP Phone; 5220 IP Phone; 5140 IP Appliance.

Add Held

The Add Held feature allows you to move on Hold to another line or to an existing conversation or conference.

This feature is currently available on the 5020 IP Phone; 5220 IP Phone; 5140 IP Appliance.

Alarm Calls (Timed Reminders)

The Alarm Calls feature allows you to set up an alarm (wake-up or reminder) call to ring at your extension at a specified time. You must answer a ringing alarm call before you can continue with any other operation at your extension.

When you receive an alarm call, your extension rings for up to 60 seconds (default) or until you answer the call. If you do not answer the call within this time period, your extension rings again every 2 minutes (default); this process is repeated up to a maximum of ten times or until you answer your alarm call.

Note: An alarm call is not repeated on successive days, which means that you must set up the alarm call daily.

This feature is currently available on the 5020 IP Phone; 5220 IP Phone; 5140 IP Appliance.

Auto Answer

The Auto Answer allows you to automatically answer internal calls directed to your extension without lifting the handset. That is, you are connected to the caller without your extension ringing. Calls presented at your extension are announced by a single burst of ringing; then, the microphone (if available) and loudspeaker are activated and the call is answered automatically. You can continue the call handsfree (if available) or use the handset.

This feature also allows you to automatically answer calls from a specific extension or from all extensions on the system.

This feature is currently available on the 5005 IP Phone; 5020 IP Phone; 5215 IP Phone; 5220 IP Phone; 5140 IP Appliance.

Bookmarks

The Bookmarks feature is an application that allows quick access to a list of URLs (i.e., Internet addresses). You use the Desktop Tool to program the URLs you want to access.

This feature is currently available on the 5140 IP Appliance
